Kyneton Little Athletics Launched its summer season on the 8th of October, 2022, at the Kyneton Showgrounds. Returning members, new members, trail athletes and their parents enjoyed the season launch under sunny conditions after a deluge of rain in the days leading up.
How Many People Turned Up?
While the number of people on the field, including parents and siblings, was not counted. We know we had 100 registered and 62 trial athletes competing on the day.
This was an excellent turnout considering we nearly had to cancel the day due to flooding on the central oval the night before.
Kyneton Athletics Season Launched With Reduced Events
Due to the deluge of rain in the days and weeks leading up to our season launch, we had to operate a reduced event schedule and suspend the running events as excess water on the oval made these events unpractical.
We did, however, run the following event:
- Shot put
- Discuss
- Javelin
- High jump
- Long jump
